American Home Shield will pay up to $2,000 per covered appliance ($4,000 with ShieldPlatinum plan) for access, diagnosis, and repair/replacement of any covered appliance.

Yes, our ShieldGold™ and ShieldPlatinum™ plans cover built-in microwaves.
We cover all components and parts of built-in microwaves. The ShieldGold™ plan covers up to $2,000 for each covered appliance. The ShieldPlatinum™ plan covers up to $4,000 for each covered appliance. American Home Shield covers built-in microwaves, which are designed to be mounted on a wall or installed in cabinetry rather than placed on a counter or another surface. We do not cover countertop microwaves.
Yes, if we can’t fix it, we’ll replace it. Plus, we’ll cover the cost to remove any defective appliance.
Our standard contract term is 1 year and can be renewed upon expiration. There is a 30-day waiting period before you can make service requests and use your home warranty plan.

I rented a motel room for the night and as I was getting ready to leave, the contractor called and said he could be there that night if I still wanted him to!!! I was soooo happy. Great service for homeowners! If you have a ton of cash ready for any home system that may fail at any moment then you are good. If you are like the other 90% of homeowners who don't, then do yourself a favor and protect your investment with an AHS home warranty. Seriously, a new HVAC in California costs over $4K. I paid $100. A new stove last year was $400, but I paid $75. It's in my budget and I don't think twice. AHS always takes great care of me.

I wasn't sure if a home warranty would be a good investment. My next door neighbor has AHS and had their AC unit repaired without any issues and little out of pocket cost. With that I was sold. I used AHS for the first time and what an easy process. I booked a service appointment online, paid the $100 service fee, and the repairman fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes. Our "trusted" AC tune up guys told us our unit was leaking refrigerant and needed a new coil unit.
