Yes, all three of our home warranty plans, ShieldSilver™, ShieldGold™, and ShieldPlatinum™, include coverage for the key components of heating units.
We cover all components and parts for covered heating units up to $5,000 per system per Agreement Term, including forced air (gas, electric, oil), wall mounted heaters, floor furnaces, package units, heat pumps, mini-splits, electric baseboard heat, and ductwork. See the specific Heating Unit coverage details on the page above. Also, please note that some limitations apply, such as a $1,500 coverage limit for Geothermal and hot water or steam circulating heating systems. If the Covered Item can only be accessed through concrete (including cinderblock) wall, floor, or ceiling, American Home Shield will only cover up to $1,000 for access and to return such opening to a rough finish. Our standard home warranty contract term is 1 year and can be renewed upon expiration. There is a 30-day waiting period before you can make service requests when you purchase a new home warranty plan.
If we can’t fix it, we’ll replace it and cover the cost to remove the defective system, subject to your plan’s limitations and exclusions.
Yes, we don’t care how old your appliance is – we cover them! You can purchase an American Home Shield home warranty without an inspection or maintenance records.

Great service for homeowners! If you have a ton of cash ready for any home system that may fail at any moment then you are good. If you are like the other 90% of homeowners who don't, then do yourself a favor and protect your investment with an AHS home warranty. Seriously, a new HVAC in California costs over $4K. I paid $100. A new stove last year was $400, but I paid $75. It's in my budget and I don't think twice. AHS always takes great care of me.

I used AHS for the first time and what an easy process. I booked a service appointment online, paid the $100 service fee, and the repairman fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes. Our "trusted" AC tune up guys told us our unit was leaking refrigerant and needed a new coil unit.
