Toilet Warranty Coverage
While bathrooms come in every style, from luxurious to basic, the need for a properly functioning toilet is one thing they all share. And while most toilets are designed to last for years, malfunctions can definitely occur. That's where we come in. Having the right coverage can make it a lot easier to keep your toilets functioning as they should. Rather than panicking when you discover a covered problem, you can simply call American Home Shield.
Toilets are covered in our ShieldSilver™, ShieldGold™ and ShieldPlatinum™ plans along with other Home Systems and Appliances.
*American Home Shield will cover up to $1,000 should the contractor need to cut through concrete to access any system components.
Covered
- Water, drain, gas, waste or vent line leaks and breaks
- Toilets and related mechanisms
- Toilet wax ring seals
- Angle stops
- Risers and gate valves (we use similar finishes and styles when we replacement is necessary)
- Hose bibs
- Permanently installed sump pumps (ground water only)
- Pressure regulators
- Sewage ejector pump (limit of $500) (septic system ejector pumps are not covered unless you purchase certain optional coverage.)
- No system is too old to be covered
- Members don't need a maintenance record for repairs to be covered
Not Covered
- Stoppages caused by collapsed, damaged or broken drain, vent or sewer lines outside your home’s main foundation
- When your lines are broken, infiltrated or stopped by roots or foreign objects – even if they're within your home’s main foundation
- Toilet lids and seats
- Caulking or grouting
- Septic tanks
- Water filtration/purification system
- Holding or storage tanks
- Costs needed to locate or access cleanouts that can't be found or are inaccessible, or to install cleanouts
- Access through roof vents

We cover the toilet, toilet-related mechanisms, toilet wax ring seal, as well as the clearing of toilet stoppages. Please note that we do not cover toilet lids and seats. See the specific Toilet coverage details on the page above.
If we can’t fix it, we’ll replace it and cover the cost to remove the defective system subject to your plan’s limitations and exclusions.
Our standard contract term is 1 year and can be renewed upon expiration. There is a 30-day waiting period before you can make service requests and use your home warranty plan.
Once your coverage begins (30 days after you purchase your new home warranty plan) you can request service 24/7 online or call 1-888-691-2854 during standard business hours to request service.

Great service for homeowners! If you have a ton of cash ready for any home system that may fail at any moment then you are good. If you are like the other 90% of homeowners who don't, then do yourself a favor and protect your investment with an AHS home warranty. Seriously, a new HVAC in California costs over $4K. I paid $100. A new stove last year was $400, but I paid $75. It's in my budget and I don't think twice. AHS always takes great care of me.

I used AHS for the first time and what an easy process. I booked a service appointment online, paid the $100 service fee, and the repairman fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes. Our "trusted" AC tune up guys told us our unit was leaking refrigerant and needed a new coil unit.
